Welcome to the Fine and Performing Arts Department's web page.
We are happy you have visited our site and hope you enjoy reading about our program.
It is exciting that all students in the Needham Public Schools can take part in our K-12 program. The Fine and Performing
Arts are considered to be a Core Academic by the United States Department of Education, as well as our state. Without
an extensive education in the creative and expressive processes that are fundamental to the Arts, a student's education is
incomplete.
Through the Fine and Performing Arts Department programs, students are able to experiment, express themselves, explore
and achieve personal goals through a variety of carefully designed curricular and co-curricular activities and lessons.
From elementary students' proud displays of coil pinch pots to the Globe Scholastic Art Awards of our middle and high school
students; from beginning strings students learning “Hot Cross Buns” to international performances of the high
school bands, string orchestra, and choirs, the consistent achievements of our students makes Needham a notable community
for it's ongoing support of excellence in the Arts.
These wonderful achievements would not be possible without the extensive involvement by the entire Needham community.
From the School Department Administration, the staff, the parents and the citizens of Needham, support for the Fine and Performing
Arts is constant and consistent. We are extremely grateful for this.
As the newly appointed Director of Fine and Performing Arts, I am excited to be joining an impressive, high performing,
vibrant educational community that is committed to offering and delivering the finest possible education to all Needham students.
Please feel free to contact me at any time to discuss our wonderful Fine and Performing Arts programs. Take a tour
of the Fine and Performing Arts Department and see for yourself the wonderful work our students produce.
